What Is The Right Choice? Think About How You Want To Die.

You want your actions not only to be good for you but good for the community. The exception? As long as what is good for you does not hurt the community.

The philosophy is reasonable, perhaps even logical. Your favorite green-blooded Vulcan has expressed in several episodes, "Logic clearly dictates that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." Kirk continues, "Or the one."

What happens when the needs of the many do not serve your needs?

You have two choices:

One -- You can stay serving the community.

What does that life look like:

  • Retire at 67 with a life expectancy of 78.
  • Sit at your desk for 40 hours weekly and collect your 3% raise each year.
  • Work hard on your stunning dad bod.
  • You learn to appreciate your anxiety.
  • You do not have to think. Just follow the process given to you.
  • You binge-watch Stranger Things -- again.
  • You organize yourself by creating an endless To Do List.

Two -- You can leave and explore your intellectual curiosities.

What does that life look like:

  • You build multiple revenue streams to build financial independence and retire early.
  • Acquire valuable skills that give you the freedom to use your time as you see fit.
  • You exercise every day.
  • You meditate every day.
  • You think about creative solutions to complex problems.
  • You read books on science, philosophy, and economics.
  • You create a "Most Important Things" list, keeping the most impactful items on the top of the list.

One choice has your safety and comfort in mind. The other choice challenges you and breeds failure. Neither decision is right or wrong, but the choice will determine how you will die -- with regrets or on empty.

Motivational speaker Less Brown tells the story, "Imagine being on your death bed, and standing around you is the ghost of the dreams, the ideas, the abilities, the talents given to you by life. That you for whatever reason, you never went after that dream. You never acted on those ideas. You never used them talents. You never used those gifts; and there they are standing beside your bed, looking at YOU with large, angry eyes saying we came to you and only you could have given us life!.. And now.. we must die with you forever."

Over the past 4 years, I have had the extraordinary opportunity to work on several large scale campaigns, including brand ambassadorships with Fortune 100 companies like Verizon. Where I assisted in driving tech conversations online and responding to potential customers about my experience as a longtime Verizon FiOS customer. I am a serial entrepreneur. And while most of my ventures have ended in failure I continue to learn and press on. Today, I am making my journey in becoming a freelance writer and photographer. These are two passions that have always been true to me.
