You Can’t Achieve Your Envisioned Future: You Have To Believe In Your Dreams

You have an inspiration; some say a desperation, to achieve your giant dreams. Unfortunately, those possibilities remain a series of unrealized choices. Why, because you have failed to implement a fundamental step -- you are not planning to achieve your dreams.

I had the same problem; I would write down all my goals and then get frustrated when they never materialized. Through failure and retrospection, I realized that I had to write down my dreams. I also needed to develop a system to secure my dreams.

For you to reach your potential, there must be a system in place that allows you to explore your curiosities, passions, and purposes. Here is the system that I devised:

  • Document my envisioned future - with myself, my relationships, my career, my finances, my friends and charitable work.
  • Design a plan that will get me to my envisioned further with built-in daily self-assessments.
  • Surround myself with people who are supportive, skeptical, smarter and more successful than me.
  • Most importantly always focus on the smallest possible project that is worth my time.

And finally, I always ask myself this question during my daily assessments”In light of my past experiences, my current circumstances, and my future hopes and dreams, what is the wise thing for me to do?”

That is my system. Please steal it. Modify it. Trash it. But most importantly make it your system. When you make it your system you begin to believe in the results which fuel your potential and forces you to take massive action.
