This photograph was taken at Silver Lake, Staten Island. I am standing on top of a hill near Forest Avenue.
To be completely honest with you I had no clue that Silver Lake had access to such beauty. I took a number of photos of the interior of Silver Lake. And I got some very nice photographs. But this one is the best of the bunch. I took the photo just as I was leaving Silver Lake. I was actually breaking down my rig when I looked up and felt compelled to take this shot.
Now for many, Staten Island is a foreign land. Stuck somewhere between Brooklyn and New Jersey. But if you slow down – allot – you will find a number of hidden jewels. Granted many of these treasures are off the beaten path. But they are all well worth the detour.
Call To Action
I don’t know what to say. I live in Staten Island and I normally don’t venture passed my house. But let me say this — if you have the time, a car and $13 for the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. Then take part of your day and come by Silver Lake.
